Introduction from the CEO
Lekan Akinyanmi, Chief Executive Officer
Our ambition is to be the world’s leading exploration and production company focused on Africa. In realising this vision, we will seek to maximise value for our stakeholders in a sustainable manner, by operating with integrity and leveraging local resources – to the benefit of the countries and communities in which we operate.
We have made a good start from our foundation in 2010 by a group of leading professionals with extensive experience in the international upstream oil and gas industry as well as in global fund management and investment banking. In 2013, we became a publicly traded company following our IPO on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, raising US$50 million to invest in the opportunities we had identified.
Since then we have participated in the discovery of the Ogo field in OPL 310 offshore Nigeria (in which we now have a 40 per cent. economic interest), acquired a significant stake in the Otakikpo Marginal Field and brought it into production and invested contra-cyclically in the very high potential OPL 325, on trend with the Ogo discovery. In order to fund our development, we have raised a further US$200 million and we maintain access to our core institutional investors who have combined assets under management of over US$3 trillion.
Shaping the Future of Oil and Gas Exploration and Production in Africa is a powerful statement of intent. I believe we are delivering on that promise.
